Roller Blinds

Some mornings you want total darkness. Some afternoons, just a softer glow. Our roller blinds come in blackout, sunscreen, and dimout — so your room feels exactly how you want it to.

Made For However
Your Room Needs To Feel

A roller blind is one of those small things that makes a big difference at home. It’s there every morning when the sun comes in, and every night when you’re trying to wind down. That’s why we make ours in three different fabrics — because what works for your child’s bedroom probably isn’t what works for your living room.

The Right Fabric Changes Everything

Blackout Roller Blinds

For the nights you really need to sleep — and the mornings you don’t want the sun waking you up before your alarm does. Blackout blocks out everything, so the room stays properly dark, whatever time of day it is outside.

  • Light blockage: 100% — zero light penetration
  • Privacy: Full — no silhouette visible from outside
  • Best for: Bedrooms, nurseries, AV/media rooms, healthcare, hotel rooms

Sunscreen Roller Blinds

For the rooms where you still want to see outside — just without the glare or the heat. Sunscreen fabric softens the harsh afternoon sun while keeping your view of the outside world.

  • Openness factor: 0.5%, 1%, 3%, or 5% — standard supply is 5% openness
  • Privacy: Good daytime privacy — cannot see clearly into the room from outside in daylight. At night when interior lights are on, privacy is reduced.
  • Best for: Living rooms, offices, feature windows, commercial glazed facades

Dimout Roller Blinds

The everyday choice for most Singapore homes. Not pitch dark, not too bright — just a soft, comfortable glow that makes a room feel cosy at any hour.

  • Light blockage: 60-70% — soft, comfortable dimming
  • Privacy: High — shapes and silhouettes not visible from outside
  • Best for: Living rooms, dining areas, study rooms, offices, commercial spaces

FAQ

Blackout blocks 100% of light — complete darkness. Sunscreen is an open-weave mesh that reduces glare and UV while keeping your view — standard 5% openness is our most popular choice. Dimout sits in the middle, blocking 85–95% of light with a soft residual glow — no harsh glare, but not pitch-black.

For bedrooms, most customers choose blackout or dimout. Blackout gives you complete darkness — great for shift workers or light-sensitive sleepers. Dimout gives a comfortable room without total blackout. Sunscreen is not recommended for bedrooms as it offers less privacy at night.

Yes. VB Blind motorised roller blinds can be installed in HDB flats. The motor requires a 240V mains power connection, which is typically wired to a nearby power point or ceiling junction. A licensed electrician may be required for the wiring if a suitable point is not already in place.

VB Blind uses Dooya (China), AOK Motor (Germany), and Somfy (France) tubular motors depending on the application. All are RF remote controlled.

Manual roller blinds can go up to 2.5m wide by 3.0m drop. Motorised roller blinds can go up to 3.0m wide by 6.0m drop. Minimum width for manual is 0.4m and for motorised is 0.8m.

Yes. VB Blind motorised blinds support Zigbee, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa integration via compatible RF motor and smart home hub. Confirm compatibility with your specific motor model at the time of enquiry.

Use a soft dry cloth or a low-suction vacuum brush for routine dusting. For marks, a damp cloth with mild detergent is sufficient for most fabric types. Do not soak the fabric, do not scrub aggressively, and avoid chemical solvents or bleach.

Yes — VB Blind roller blinds can be ceiling mounted or wall mounted. The most common installation in Singapore HDB and condo units is ceiling mount inside the window recess, but wall mount is also fully supported.

VB Blind supplies through authorised dealers. There is no publicly stated minimum order for residential customers — single blind orders are available. For trade or bulk enquiries, contact us at tsc@vbblind.com.

Openness factor refers to how open the weave is — a lower percentage means a tighter weave, more UV blocking, and less view-through. 5% is our standard (most open — best view, least privacy), 3% gives a balance, 1% and 0.5% give the most UV protection and privacy with the least outward view. Most Singapore homeowners choose 3% or 5%.
