The Outdoor Screen
That Actually Stays Put

ZipScreen is not an ordinary outdoor blind. Designed and engineered in Australia by Rollease Acmeda, ZipScreen uses a patented zip-channel locking mechanism that secures the screen fabric tightly into grooved side channels on both edges — eliminating the gaps, flutter, and billowing that conventional outdoor blinds experience in wind.

The result is a taut, sealed screen that provides real weather control, genuine privacy, and consistent light management in any outdoor or semi-outdoor space — regardless of wind conditions. Whether on a high-rise condo balcony or a ground-floor alfresco, ZipScreen performs where standard blinds fall short.

FAQ

ZipScreen is an outdoor zip screen system designed and engineered in Australia by Rollease Acmeda — a precision window covering and automation company. The defining feature is the zip-channel locking system that seals the screen fabric edge-to-edge into aluminium side channels, preventing gaps, flapping, and wind-lift that affect conventional outdoor blinds.

VB Blind (TS Classic Pte. Ltd.) is the exclusive distributor and fabricator of ZipScreen in Singapore, appointed by Rollease Acmeda Pty. Ltd. on 1 November 2020. All ZipScreen products sold in Singapore are fabricated at VB Blind’s Singapore facility.

ZipScreen comes in three systems: (1) Motorised — tubular motor (Dooya or Somfy), RF remote and smart home compatible, requires mains power. (2) Spring Boosted — manual pull-and-release with spring assist, no power needed, stop at any height using the supplied pull stick. (3) Crank System — gear-driven manual crank, stop at any height, suited to smaller widths.

Yes — all three manual systems (Spring Boosted and Crank) allow you to stop and hold the screen at any height. For the Spring Boosted system, a 1,500mm pull stick is provided to assist with higher positions. For the Crank system, a 2,000mm crank stick is supplied.

Yes. The zip-channel mechanism locks the screen fabric into the aluminium side channels, preventing the fabric from being pulled or pushed by wind. VB Blind has demonstrated ZipScreen withstanding over 400kg of tensile force. For specific wind-rated specifications by installation type, contact our team.

Yes. An increasingly popular use of ZipScreen in Singapore is as an interior retractable room divider — creating a soft partition between a living room and study, or between bedrooms in an open-plan layout. When retracted, the space opens up completely. When lowered, it provides privacy and a degree of acoustic separation.

Motorised ZipScreen (Dooya or Somfy): up to 4,000mm (157″) wide at up to 3,000mm height, or up to 3,000mm wide at heights up to 3,500mm or 4,000mm (subject to site conditions). Minimum width is 820mm (32″). For exact sizing confirmation, contact your VB Blind dealer.
